Alexandra Avellino has just found her father’s mutilated body, and needs the police right away. She believes her sister killed him, and that she is still in the house with a knife.<\/p>\n

Sofia Avellino has just found her father’s mutilated body and needs the police right away. She believes her sister, Alexandra did it, and that she is still in the house, locked in the bathroom.<\/p>\n

Both women are to go on trial at the same time. A joint trial in front of one jury.<\/p>\n

But one of these women is lying. One of them is a murderer. Sitting in a jail cell, about to go on trial with her sister for murder, you might think that this is the last place she expected to be.<\/p>\n

You’d be wrong.<\/p>\n

Review of Fifty Fifty – Steve Cavanagh<\/h3>\n

As always, an original and surprising story. A great legal thriller, that throws everyone off.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two sisters, Alexandra and Sofia Avellino, accuse each other of murdering their father, Fran Avellino, former mayor of New York. There’s material evidence on the body pointing to both of them. And both have psychological problems. <\/span><\/p>\n

Suspense throughout the novel and is kept to the very end. A very clever and well-planned murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eddie Flynn defends one of them. The other one is defended by a rookie lawyer who’s faced with her first big case. Both are convinced of the innocence of their defendants, but in the end, they’re both surprised by the truth. As usual, I can’t say anything else without spoiling the story.<\/span><\/p>\n

I can only say, without spoilers, that the rookie lawyer, Kate Brooks, at the end of the novel\u00a0partners with Flynn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with “13” (Thirteen)<\/a>, Fifty Fifty is the Steve Cavanagh<\/a> novel I liked the most.<\/span><\/p>\n

And, as always, I insist that it’s a pity that they’re not translated into Spanish. So far they’ve only translated “13”, the one before this one and fourth in the series.
