Poison à la carte
A group of gourmets calling themselves the Ten for Aristology invite Wolfe’s chef, Fritz, to cook their annual dinner. Wolfe and Archie are included as guests.
Twelve young women—one for each guest—serve the meal. They are actresses sent by a theatrical agency and refer to themselves as «Hebes,» named after the cupbearer to the gods in the Greek pantheon.
One member of the Ten, Vincent Pyle, is poisoned, and Wolfe quickly concludes that the arsenic was administered by one of the girls. Pyle was a Broadway agent, and it was quite possible that he knew one or more of the Hebes.

Method Three for Murder
Mira Holt borrows her friend Judy Bram’s taxi to pick up her husband at a specific address. She wants to see him to discuss their divorce, but he has been avoiding her; this way, he will have no choice but to speak with her.
When her husband fails to show up, Mira goes to his house and discovers he is not there. Upon returning to the taxi to leave, she finds a dead body in the back seat: her husband’s girlfriend.
At a loss for what to do, she heads to Nero Wolfe’s home. She wants to hire him to advise her on how to avoid being accused of murder.
Mira Holt pide prestado el taxi de su amiga Judy Bram, para ir a recoger a su marido a cierta dirección. Quiere verlo para discutir el divorcio pero él está evitándola. Así no tendrá mas remedio que hablar con ella.
Cuando el marido no se presenta, Mira se acerca hasta la casa de él comprobando que no está allí.

The Rodeo Murder
In The Rodeo Murder, a lively party at Lily Rowan’s Park Avenue penthouse features an unusual roping contest between several cowboy friends. The host offers a valuable silver-trimmed saddle as the main prize for the winner. However, one of the contestants faces an immediate disadvantage because his rope suddenly disappears from the venue. Therefore, the atmosphere quickly turns tense among the guests.
Shortly after, the missing rope reappears in a terrifying location. A witness finds it wound more than a dozen times around the neck of a wealthy guest. The unfortunate victim is the chief financial backer of the World Series Rodeo. As a result, the fun celebration instantly turns into a high-profile murder investigation.
